ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Now based in the Scottish Borders, Charles trained at Glasgow School of Art in the 1970’s and is now one of Scotland’s best loved landscape painters. Before moving to the Borders to paint full time, he had a successful career in graphic design and now the rural landscape which surrounds his small cottage provides a regular supply of material, particularly when snow covers the winter landscape. He has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Watercolour Society, the Laing and the Royal Scottish Academy as well as having regular exhibitions in Edinburgh and London.
